Edmodo is a social media site created specifically for educational use in the classroom. It looks like Facebook, but acts like an online class website similar to those used in universities. Teachers can set up their own classes within Edmodo and register their students for free accounts. They then give the students the access code to the class Edmodo site. Once the students have joined the site, they are enrolled in the teacher’s account. Here the students can be instructed, contacted, and even graded through online quizzes. Parents can also receive a class code and they will be granted access to see only what the teacher posts and what their child posts. This site is completely secure and very school-friendly. Free mobile apps are also available for Android and Apple products.
Features of Edmodo include: -A class newsfeed -Customizable quizzes -Assignment dropboxes -Gradebook -Class calendar
