Prezi is becoming ubiquitous in schools and has started to replace PowerPoint as a favorite presentation software. It serves a similar purpose to PowerPoint, but offers many more features for visually engaging effects and animations. Prezi also allows the user to organize information in a non-linear sequence which can be ideal for abstract or conceptual ideas. Prezi can be used by students and teachers to create online presentations using a free account.
Prezi is also ideal for group projects because, unlike PowerPoint, Prezis are stored on the internet and can be shared and accessed by multiple users concurrently. The online storage of Prezi has the additional advantage of allowing teachers who have the links to student Prezis to log in and check up on progress in real time. Prezis stored online are also easy to present because students are not required to remember to bring in a flash drive or any sort of external storage device.
